Introduction to recreation services for people with disabilities

This is the third edition and introduction to students in recreation, parks and leisure studies by Charles Bullock, dean of the College of Applied Sciences and Arts from San Jose University, Michael Mahon, the president of the University of Lethbridge and Charles Killingsworth, professor in the Department of Health, Human Performance and Recreation at Pittsburg State University.
In 17 chapters the authors have managed to make a comprehensive book about people with disabilities, the history of disability, discrimination, barriers and solution for recreational services for this population. There are special chapters for people with intellectual disability, physical disability, visual impairment, hearing loss and mental illness.
The book ends with a framework for action and include an appendix with the Americans with disabilities act checklist for readily achievable barrier removal and an example of a disabilities awareness event.
This book should be a must for every student in recreational therapy and practice.
