The TMNT art of Kevin Eastman

I just got my copy in the mail & though I ordered this through another online website I figured to write a brief review for anyone curious about this new book. It's a very well put together, slick hardcover featuring pretty much all of Kevin Eastman's turtles artwork that's he's done since signing on with IDW for the current TMNT comic book series. That's basically what differentiates this from the previous "TMNT Artobiography" originally published by Heavy Metal in 2002 & expands on IDW's one shot "TMNT: Kevin Eastman Cover Gallery" from 2013. I'm a longtime fan of Mirage Studios going back to the mid 80's so anyone else who loves the original run of the TMNT comic's this is a must own. This almost feel's like a reprise of the artwork from both Eastman & Laird's time together on Mirage Studios. It really has that sort of vibe for me. Included are all sorts of work like cover art, sketches, notes, & so much more. It'd be awesome to have Peter Laird put out something similar but so far, Eastman's been the only one of the two who's been working steadily with the turtles comic resurgence since 2011. Regardless, a really cool book to own if your into comic book/fantasy art or just love the turtles current line of comics. I'll admit the book is kind of pricey but the presentation more than makes up for it. Support your indie comic publisher & pick this up!

I bought the Kindle for PC version of this text. If you are buying the Kindle version of this book, beware. The resolution of the images is such that you can not read the accompanying text (the text that is part of the image). The pictures themselves are difficult to view. As this is a histology textbook, this is a MAJOR PROBLEM. Frankly, I'm surprised they offer this text in this version.

I really am not sure why they include images that are not in the original form with the original quality. It makes a good portion of this text useless. I called support for Kindle for PC and there is no solution.

Happily, I can get this purchase refunded. However, I'll be desperately squinting until my test on Thursday, trying to get what I can from this. Not enough time to buy the hard copy at this point. My eyes hurt.

Excellent textbook for histology students

I would recommend this book for anyone taking histology in medical school or undergrad. I am a med student and found this book much easier to learn from compared to other textbooks I have read. The author writes in a fashion that enhances learning. The pictures are also very good and helped me to further visualize the types of epithlia. This second book was so amazing because it had the kind of questions I saw on my histology exams. My study group and I used both these books and we all passed with ease and with less study time. Time is money. It's better to invest in a couple of excellent books than to take a $2500 class all over again. I give both books 6 stars!!!!!

Great book for histology class

The pictures were the selling point in this book. It did go a little too far in depth for my histology class at the time, talking about subunit x of protein y connects to this subunit in this way. However, it became more useful when I got to phys and path. The diagrams were everything, and they supplemented the text well. It did not have as many real microscopic pictures as Wheaters, but I found the drawings more useful than just staring at a light pink blob by a darker pink blob.

Inspiring!

I read this book as a beginner, and found it inspirational. The techniques are good basics and a good grounding for design.
I managed to work some of the patterns from scratch, as a raw beginner, and they worked out well. It certainly inspired me to go and do a course.
I wouldn't call it a complete beading course, but so pretty!

Good introduction to beading

The book is quite thin and entirely in black and white, which was kind of a let down but for the used price I paid, it doesn't bother me so much. The majority of the book shows how to bead by hand with a needle. I bought the book because I wanted to learn more about tambour beading and there was only 1 page in the whole book that talked about it and it didn't do a very good job of it either. But I like it because it shows me how to approach beading and patterns, which I didn't know how to do before. So it's a good introduction to beading beginners like myself.

I have found this book to be extremely good. I am an advanced beader and the book is definately not for those starting out. I have copied some things exactly but for the most part I have used it as inspiration to develop patterns myself. It is a worthy tool in my beading library.

A real gem!!!

Neuro-ophthalmology illustrated is a must-have for anyone who cares for patients with ophthalmic or neurological disorders. Not only do I keep a copy of the book in my clinic, but as a faculty in neuro-ophthalmology, I recommend it to my trainees for several reasons. The book is organized into Chapters and sections that cover practically every aspect from history taking, examination, radiological features and management. It is concise, easy to read and has high quality illustrations on virtually every page. A picture as they say is worth a thousand words and to a trainee, visual representation of a clinical sign or radiological finding is easier to comprehend than a description of it. The book is compact and can easily fit in a coat pocket, ready to be referenced at the beside when needed. In summary, this book will be useful for trainees or experienced practitioners (neurology, ophthalmology, optometry or family practice), and dare I say, a steal for the price quoted.

A must have!

Neuro-ophthalmology can be a tough subject to write about. Some handbooks out there either don't give you enough information or provide you with so much information and leave you a bit confused. "Neuro-ophthalmology Illustrated" is well-written, thoughtfully organized, and the the illustrations are extremely helpful. This handbook is a must have for neuro-ophthalmologists, ophthalmologists, and neurologists...both in training and in practice.

An essential guide

Neuro-Ophthalmology Illustrated is THE concise guide for evaluation and management of neuro-ophthalmology patients. It is comprehensive enough to cover nearly all situations, but it still provides the essential details in a paperback that can fit in your white coat pocket! I highly recommend this book to all ophthalmology and neurology residents, fellows, and attendings, as an essential book in their "go-to" library.
